Birthday Bash

Here are some of the favorites of the girls' birthdays. On Sadie's birthday, we let her pick the place to eat. She chose McDonalds. Yes, we are high-class around here. Anyway, we went there for dinner and the girls played. Then we came home and had rainbow cake (she wanted every color in the world on her cake and that is the way I decided to make it presentable, even though we didn't get all the colors she mentioned.) Then she opened 2 small presents from us and my parents.
On Cydnie's birthday, we talked her into wanting steak for her birthday so we could go to Stockmans' for dinner. Sadie ate more steak than anyone, even though she wouldn't be talked into it three days earlier for her own birthday. It was fun. I was a slacker and had to purchase Cyd a cake at Wal-mart. She didn't mind. Then she opened a couple small presents as well. On Saturday, we had a Hawaiian Luau at Grandma Rosie's yard. Had Hawaiian haystacks and the cake was a beach and ocean w/ teddy grahms floating on life saver innertubes and suntanning on airhead towels. We didn't get a picture of it, though, I forgot. It was pretty cute, though, I thought. The girls opened presents; Cydnie was done when she opened that pinwheel. She thought it was soooo cool. It was a little breezy and she thought it was so neat that it would spin until she touched it to the ground then lift it up again and laugh. It was really cute. The girls loved their bikes, too. Every morning it's the first thing they want to do. The older cousins found a wooly bear caterpiller to show the girls; Cydnie wouldn't hold it but Sadie thought it was awesome. I love the differences in my kids. It makes me laugh every day. Anyway, I kept everything low-key and I think everyone had a great time at the party. A success in my book. Check out those cute strawberry jammies they're wearing. Don't get cuter than that, I think. Wish you all could've been there!!

The Graduates

These are pictures taken by a parent during preschool graduation. It turned out really really well, actually. A lot better than I expected; I was so nervous because all the parents and
grandparents of the kids were there. But everyone loved the songs that the kids sang and the food was great and I had enough (Phew.). I'm going to miss those little cuties so much.

On the Topic of Dinosaurs

This is our field trip to the Dinosaur Museum. Here is paleontologist, Cydnie digging for dinosaur bones, as you can see she was very successful. (Yes, I had to look up how to spell that. They didn't teach us that while we were there.)
Here we are looking at the fish. There are a whole bunch of koi (sp? too lazy to look that one up) and they were really big. It was the biggest hit of all, I'm afraid. :)
Here's my sweet little class. Last day is tomorrow. I'm going to miss them soooo much!! Ups and downs, through it all, I have grown so much and learned so much. They are awesome and they're on to bigger and better things. :)

Vernal...

So I'm pretty sure everyone knows we have ummm... plentiful dinosaurs in Vernal. We have our claim to fame, the T-Rex that MTV's Road Rules painted the toenails of some years ago. This particular dinosaur changes outfits during the year. This is a new thing, however. Or relatively. He never had "costumes" when we lived here before, but when we came back from our six years in Provo, he had... evolved. He is a cupid, and Easter bunny, Dr. Seuss' Cat in the Hat (for some reason) and right now he is fishing. (The floppy hat and the fishing pole dangling a fish.) It's our pride and joy. Okay, not really. Those of us who grew up here and remember the times before he was dressed up, feel it is an abomination to the original dinosaur. Somehow he is just that much more embaressing than before.

Anyway, the point of this blog, and I got sidetracked, is there is another infamous dinosaur farther downtown. She is pink. And her name is Dinah. (I will try and post pictures of these notorious monsters because if you haven't seen them, you have no idea how glorious they are.) Anyway, Dinah was made in the 50s, and when she was new, her eyes moved. Vernal has recently spent some thousand dollars in restoring her to her original beauty. She is looking good. And... her eyes move. Come on, now. Who else is creeped out by that?? The one good thing is, anytime some unexplained thing goes wrong in town, we can probably blame it on the dinosaur..... Shifty Eyes, you know. :)

What I did Today.

Sometimes I make these lists of things I do all day long to make myself do stuff. Does that make sense? I know if I am going to account for what I did today, I better make it look like I was productive. Sick.
Woke up.
Took shower.
Did hair.
Did makeup.
(These are no small feats for me, guys.)
Looked over the preschool lesson, looked
frantically for something to server them for snack.
Thank you, Malto Mateys, for saving my butt...again.
(Kids love those things!!) Preschool til 11:30
Got 2 packages full of purses. Unwrapped and priced them.
12:30-took the kids to my mom's so I could go talk to a
tax consultant about what to expect. Suddenly owning my
own business is not such a cheery topic. :( Scary.
Ate a hamburger, then brought the kids home. Put Cydnie
down for a nap. Watched the Wizard of Oz with Sadie so she
wouldn't be scared of the flying monkeys. I was when I was little!
Checked email. Swept and mopped the kitchen and straightened
enough in the living room so I could actually vacuum. It's a great
feeling when that happens. Now I need to go get dinner cooking and
the kids in the bathtub so I can go play Bunco!! hahaha. 2 complications
with that. 1. Who knows what's for dinner??? Ughh. and 2. The bathtub
throws up food when the dishwasher is running. And it is. And I don't think
I want to deal with that while the kids are in it. :) Good times.
Can't believe you read the whole boring thing! Have a good day!
