Sadie

Sadie was watching one of her animal shows the other day and said to Morgan, "Hey, Dad. Cydnie's a Polar Bear."
Morgan said, "What?"
Sadie said, "That guy said 'Polar Bears eat anything they can find."

So true.

Case in point:
There was some hard yellow plastic in Cyd's mouth the other day and I said, "What is that?"
She goes, "I don't know."
I said, "Then why is it in your mouth?"
*Shrug* "..Thought it was cheese."

A Summer of Firsts!

STAND BY FOR PHOTO OVERLOAD --- That's what you get when I don't blog for months at a time.

This summer the girls have done lots of things for the first time. We:
Ran the Green River with good friends. It was a blast. I hope to do it again very soon! Thanks again for coming, Barker fam!

Sadie got golf clubs for her birthday - I'm jealous; they're super cute. We all went golfing together as a family for the first time this summer. And once we went to Provo and golfed the mini course and the girls drove the cart for the first time....and possibly the last.

I was carefully directing the cart to the first hole when Cydnie, commenting on my speed said, "What's the pwoblem??" To which Sadie promptly replied, "Mom's the problem!" Apparently Mom doesn't drive as fast as Dad.

First waterfight they started by themselves without asking mom if they could get wet and where nobody cried because the other one got them wet.

I put the girls in dance for the first time! I was completely in love with it but not sure we'll continue taking in the fall due to scheduling problems. Dang job.

First big-girl sleepover! I had 5 little girls @ my house all night. It was a little adventurous, but with these well-behaved girls, it was so much fun.

The girls had never been bowling! What a slacker mom I am. You can see that Cydnie loved it. And she actually did really well. She got a couple of strikes! (With the help of those inflateable lane thingies.)

We are cramming as much fun as possible into our summer. How about you?

Princess Party

Back in May the girls had a birthday party fit for a princess! We had all the little guests come in their best princess attire and well, we had a ball! Games included Pass the Poison Apple, a crown pinata, and the smash-hit Kiss the Toad (which was a 'spin' on Pin the Tail on the Donkey but involving bright red lipstick and a picture of a toad).

My dad asked Cydnie to come and give him a kiss after the toad and one of the girls at the party said, "EWWW!! That would be even grosser than a toad!"
