Sadie's Day at Church

Sadie really made us laugh today at church.
Every Sunday when we first get there, I send the girls the bathroom and to get a drink in the hopes they will be able to make it through an entire hour without having to leave.
Today, when the girls returned from the bathroom, Sadie said to me, "Mom. There was a cricket in the girls' bathroom."
I said, "Oh."
Then she said, "Mom, there was a cricket in the girls' bathroom." I said, "Um, was it a boy cricket? What's the problem?" She just laughed and didn't say anything else...

Later she was coloring and she drew this:

I said, "What does it say?" She goes, "It says 'Dad said who Farted?"

Then Morgan and I got the giggles in church until the tears were rolling down our faces.

Then we had like 20 minutes left of Sacrament meeting and Sadie says, "Mom, what should I do with it?"
I'm like, "Do with what?" Then I realize her had is in a fist.

She's still holding the cricket.

Another Little Project

Yesterday Morgan told me that my dad called last night and told him my uncle had a trampoline he was wanting to get rid of. Sweet!

I asked the girls, "if you could have anything you wanted for a surprise, what would it be?" And Cydnie said, "A KANGAROO!" Um... welll, it's not THAT cool, I guess.

Anyway, that morning we dropped off the girls @ my mother-in-laws' house and drove to Vernal to pick it up. It was one of those old AWESOME ones - you know, the rectangle kind. I was sooo excited! We drove straight to Lowes to buy some paint to gussey it up a bit.

Here it is before:

Then we drove over and picked up the girls from Grandma's house and surprised them!

A great find and we did this all in one morning! Thank you Aunt Raema and Uncle Lloyd! I know this will be loved for generations to come!

I bought her off ebay about 10 years ago and I've always loved her. I just thought she could use a little makeover.
Here she is now:

Sadie's 1st Day

I know, I'm way behind! The first day was sooo rough ... but only for me! I cried like a baby after I dropped her off but she was just fine. :) Luckily for me, she has one of my best friends for her teacher so I know she's got someone else who loves her watching over her too. Sadie is just getting so grown up and I'm so proud of her.

Cydnie

A demonstration of how I may not be holding it all together.

I got home from work today, irritated, as usual. I find it a little hard to turn off my job right away when I get home - I'm hoping that's not a personality flaw but something that will come with time.

I was a little on-edge, I'll admit, when I got home from a hectic afternoon at work and was trying to immediately prepare things for dinner guests. Sadie had already had a meltdown when she was supposed to go to a friends' house after school and had lost her permission slip and they wouldn't let her on the bus. Then Sadie and Cydnie had a fight over a ribbon that ended in hair-pulling. There were already a lot of tears and I had only been home 20 minutes! Cydnie started following me around the kitchen saying, "Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, MOM I NEED HELP MOM I NEED HELP MOM I NEED HELP!!" I told Cyd I would do it in a minute - I was busy right then.

After a few minutes she brings me this post-it note with scribbled message on it, sticks it on the counter in front of where I'm working and walks off in a huff. When I get a free minute I went to her room and said, "So what does this note say?"

"It says I wish I had diffwent pawwents because you don't listen vewy well."

Ow. That hurt. I've been a little unstable now for a couple of weeks anyway and it really did hit me hard.

It turned out all Cydnie wanted was for me to put some clothes on her doll. It would've taken me 2 seconds of my precious salad-making time to put them on her and make her feel special.

I've been working full-time now for 8 months and thought I was going to get the hang of it - going to get it all together. Maybe some girls just aren't cut out for all that, huh.
