Float like a butterfly. Sting like a...
Something of note happened to Cyd yesterday. We were all out at the house and had just finished lunch. I had a bottle of Dr. Pepper and the kids had wandered off with the lid. Cydnie came up and took a drink out of the bottle and then started spitting and threw the pop down on the ground. I said, "Cydnie..." (about throwing the pop down because it was right next to the electrician's power tools) and she said, "I sowwy but there a bee!!" And she started crying a little bit. I knew immediately what must have happened because there are always bees around the sweets we bring to the house. I didn't think it stung her, though, because she wasn't really hysterical like I thought someone would be if they got stung in the mouth. She just kind of wimpered and cried a little and walked around still trying to spit the bee out. It was really cute too because she was walking around saying, "STUPID bee!! Stupid bee!" A minute later when she was still spitting I told her to let me look at it. I pulled down her bottom lip and there was still a stinger with half a bee attached to her lip! Eww. That's enough to traumatize someone, don't you think?
It's a little swollen still but when I ask if I can look at it she says, "It bettew now." What a trooper. I got stung on the butt once and I complained for two weeks. (It really was horrible; it was in my bed and I sat on it. Then it swelled HUGE and itched terribly forever. My mom told me to put bleach on it--she had read that somewhere. So I did. Works like a charm...if it said it burns like nobody's business.) So! Two tips for the day: Don't drink something you don't look in first. And don't put bleach on your butt.
Have you been stung by a bee??
Have your kids?

WHOA-what a trooper!
I've been stung by a bee at Girl's Camp. Stinking, stupid, dumb bee flew up my shirt, unbeknownst to me (must have been a dude bee) and I kept feeling a tickle. Finally-I started scratching my back and badda bing. Yowsa.
Lex got it on her arm last year...that's when you find out if they are allergic. The answer was yes.
Oh bless her little heart! We have too many bee stories to mention. It is really quite sad.
Hey I am TAGGING you! Read my blog for details.
Poor little girl. Hallie had a hive break open on her once. Had stings in her ears, nose, lips. It was terrible. I rushed her to the ER, and they made me feel like an idiot, but my heck , they counted 23 stings. I hate bees because of that.
