My Apologies.

PLEASE DON'T HATE ME!!

I seriously hope I don't lose friends over this.
I have read Twilight and New Moon so far. Couple of problems.

1. Mostly since I waited so long to jump on the band wagon, most of the "surprises" have been ruined for me.
2. Morgan.

The problem is, I told Morgan I was reading it. Now he won't quit teasing me!!! Aghhh. And I don't want to defend the series because frankly I don't love it. But I told him about some of the Vampire traits: That it's a myth that they sleep in coffins... Whoa. Who knew he was so touchy about vampires. "Where does that girl get off thinking she can come in and change everything we know about vampires??" Uhhh do we believe in Vampires?? These particular ones don't hunt humans. "What? What do they eat?? BEARS??"

Oh and the most disturbing thing is he thinks this opens the door for me to watch ugly people movies. I've read an ugly people book and now he thinks I have to watch Interview With the Vampire and Van Helsing because I need to learn about what Vampires really are. They sleep in coffins and they can be killed by a stake through the heart or a silver bullet.

He was willing to concede that Vampires and Werewolves are in fact enemies. Okay... and this is of course assuming we believe in said vampires and werewolves.

LET ME JUST SAY THAT EVEN THOUGH I DON'T LOVE IT OR UNDERSTAND THE HYPE EXACTLY, I WILL BE FINISHING THE SERIES. EVEN THOUGH THE RADIO RUINED THE FACT THAT EDWARD AND BELLA WILL BE GETTING MARRIED. (WHICH I KNOW IS OBVIOUS ANYWAY.) HOWEVER KEEP IN MIND I HAVE NOT READ THE LAST TWO BOOKS SO IN THE COMMENTS DON'T ...YOU KNOW DISCLOSE ANY INFORMATION I MAY NOT KNOW. :) Love you all, let me know if we're still friends.

And Morgan is "dying" to know: What do vampires poo?? Anyone? Anyone?

(He wants to know if the doctor asks them if they have blood in their stool.
I just threw up a little typing that.)

haha! this is hilarious! i never could get much past the 2st book. about 2 chapters into i gave up. & i thought the 1st was reeeeeeeeealy dumb. i read it because everyone i knew was raving about it so merv bought me the series for christmas. the movie looks lame...and i agree, this series doesn't do vampires justice at all.

morgan is so funny sometimes! anyway, i am a fan; but we can still be friends! but i just read for the sake of enjoying a book. i don't usually dig too deep. i can see why people don't like the books, but i still think they're great. maybe it just makes me fill young again, like i silly teenager!

Ok we can still be friends, I believe that was our agreement....for now!!! Love you! I think it's a husband thing too, I made Quin start reading them, and took the first book away from him just a couple hundred pages in because he was tearing the book apart too.

I am so with you!! I have read all but the last one and I was so dissapointed in Miss Meyers' writing style.BORING!!! Not a big fan AT all! The thing that cracks me up is that you are still going to finish the series as am I! WHY!? It's like a train wreck...you just keep watching or reading in our case!

K Al-
I just read them for the first time last week myself. We are matching.

Well we match up to the not finished reading them yet. I've finished them with a vengeance. I'm not telling you how much I like them, either.

I do have one question-why do guys make fun of us for reading books about vampires and get mad at the differences? Just admit it guys- you love vampires more than Bella does.

Hahahahaha!!!!! Do you think perhaps its not so much the book, but that the hype increased the expectation, and said expectation was much higher than what the book turned out to be? Just a thought..... Also don't forget that this is a young adult series not an adult one.......hummmmmmmm....... I enjoyed them for what they were, but you get to make up your own mind.......

Clarifications:
Morgan would like it known he was joking and doesn't actually believe in vampires. Apparently he reads my blog now. haha.

I would like it known that I didn't hate the 3rd book as much as the other two. haha.

I haven't read any of the books.-But I think like Morgan, stick to the vampiric facts please.
This senario is hilarious to me, because I can actually hear the conversation in my head in your voice and Morgans. You guys rock!

So, I just finished the 4th book, and all I can say is: Anticlimactic. :(

Morgan I don't think we should pry much into the personal lives of vampires. By the way do you still have my duck decoys??? :) I am looking for you... last name rhymes with our favorite hobby... also a play in baseball... if you can't figure it out then I don't want to talk to you. Sorry to hog your blog Allison.

Okay, Twilight-lovin person here, answering the question about poop. Stephenie Meyer's vampires don't poop, or pee, or drool - they don't have any body fluids except venom. Their body burns the blood they drink like fuel.

There, now you can go answer Morgan's silly question. And, yes, Chris did the same thing when he tried to read them. He did NOT finish the series & I really didn't want him to read the last two books anyways. He kept telling me, "It's killing me, Cyd." Then stop reading, crazy man. I didn't make you read them!

Now to redeem myself a little. I do think the hype made them dissapointing. I read the first three before I had heard much about them, and I loved them. Then the fourth one hit with all of the Harry Potter comparisons, etc, and I was dissapointed.

Be warned if you haven't gotten to it yet, it has some ghastly scenes that would fit better into The X-files than into the Twilight series. But Midnight Sun (Edward's point of view) is on Stephenie's blog & it is a fun read.
