A New Chapter
Well, it's been way too long since I've updated. Sorry, guys.
Let's talk about Fall.
Sadie started school!! She gets on that big huge bus and drives away--far, far away. All alone. Yeah, I cried the first day. But only after she left! I told her later, but she didn't see it. :) THEN she got her first loose tooth all in the same week. I had a little meltdown. She's growing up so fast; I just hate it.
Of course I had the classic self-evaluation every mom gets when this realization hits: have I done enough? Have I prepared her to go into the world on her own and know she'll make right decisions? You know what? I feel like I have a long way to go there. I hope I can do better.
A funny thing she said when she got home from school that day: "There was this one teacher...and she was FREAKIN' NICE!" (See what I mean about ... I need to do better??) "Uhh, honey, try not to use that word at school. Or around Grandma."
On the upside, it gives me a little more one-on-one time with Cydnie and that's fun. She's such a kook, we have so much fun. We took the girls to a high school football game (very nostalgic for me, more on that later) and Cydnie was just a hoot. She has learned some of the cheers and we're training her early to be a Ute fan.
Tonight is Homecoming. 13 (!) years ago, Morgan and I went on our first official date to Homecoming so it is kinda fun for us to go and reminisce. Plus Morgan has a nephew who plays so we go to watch him, too.
My thoughts on Fall, as you all probably already know are STOPPP SUMMER FROM LEAVING! SOMEBODY! But it is already too late. It seemed to have slipped away two days ago when it all of a sudden got COLD outside. There are two really great things about fall, though, and I'll try to focus on these: 1. PUMPKIN DESSERTS. and 2. The ability to keep chocolate in your car at all times.
My camera card decided to malfunction today but I'll post pictures soon!

So good to hear from you. Life gets crazy for me this time of year! You are my second friend who has mentioned how much they hate to see summer end. Good thing days seem to be going by quickly these days and before you know it, it will be summer all over again! I love the fall way too much. Glad all seems to be well.
welcome back! you were missed. :)
AAAHHHH!!! Thank you so much I needed a fix from your blog. I so agree about pumpkin desserts.
I'm trying to ward off the forbodeing of the oncoming winter too! Yikes!
I once heard TJ say "I can't get my freaking sunday shirt on!" So I feel ya there too!!!!
Have Morgan check out the pic's from Brent's camping adventure...He'll love them!
Glad you're back. I've missed your posts; they always make me laugh. I loved the story about Sadie and her Freakin Nice teacher. LOL.
I feel the same way you do about sending your kindergartner off into the world! I am such a baby every day I still get sad about it!! I wish fall could just be twice as long to put off winter a little longer!
